"My Life's Memory"
On a page inside a bottle,
I wrote my life's Memory.
I tossed it to the currents,
Now it's floating through the seas.
Some people find it strange,
To see a bottle so lonely,
So they toss their bottles to it,
And in so doing, welcome me.
What a site you must behold,
When you see multiples of these,
Just a collection of glass bottles,
That is floating through the seas.
So the waves will toss and turn them,
As they pass through history,
Until someone else may find them,
And they welcome them with glee.
Still my mind, sometimes it drifts
On back to my life's Memory
That is trapped inside a bottle,
That is floating through the seas.
And then still sometimes I wonder,
If my bottle I'll ever see
Bringing back to me the precious gift
Of my life's Memory.
Now it floats with more just like it:
Bottles amassed through history;
Just the thoughts of lonely people,
That are floating through the seas.
But now, the bottles are never touched
"It's much better to let them be"
So no one else discovers
What was your life's Memory.
Around half the world it floated
Before I came to think, vaguely
What if I had never tossed it?
And still had it here with me?
I've seen thousands float just like it,
Even millions, possibly,
How to find one single bottle
That is floating through the seas?
Yet if by some chance I find it,
By the tide or by the breeze,
Then with open arms I'll welcome
My glass bottle happily.
So before you toss your bottle
To the waves of this world's seas,
Do you really want to lose what's
Become your life's Memory?
